Cartridge Yield
New cartridges for many Hewlett-Packard printers are being introduced with "A" and "X" versions. The "X" indicates extended yield and offers more pages printed per cartridge. For example a 15A cartridge is rated by HP at 2,500 pages @ 5% coverage and the 15X cartridge is rated at 4,000 pages @ 5% coverage, an increase of nearly 60% over the 15A. Therefore, if a 15A sold at $100.00 and a 15X at $140, you would have a cost saving of about 15% or 500 free pages compare to using 15A cartridges.
The time needed to rebuild an "A" type cartridge is the same as an "X" type. Both also use the same drum (which at Global Laser is replaced with a new drum EVERY rebuild) and other wearing components, therefore for most HP printers, we only offer rebuilt cartridges in the "X" variant. In most cases the rebuilt "X" version of the cartridge is still priced lower than a new "A" type.
